I was at The Torch Sunday morning for a great message for the 9am service. It was one I needed to hear and I think a lot of other people needed to hear it also. It would eventually send me to my knees at the alter at the end.
Pastor Mike Franklin was preaching on Trustable. Trusting in God no matter what you are going through. Easier said than done. Pastor Mike gave the congregation 5 laws we need to trust in God to bring us through. We all need to take these to heart. I feel so strongly that this message was for any one that would hear it and would put it into action.
The first law is, "The Law of Undivided Confidence". Believe it or not this is one thing I have been facing and trying to do for a long time now. Having Confidence in God to bring you through any situation can be so trying at times, but he has never failed us has he. In Ps. 123 God says he is our shepard and that he would lead us and be with us. Ps. 1 says that if we have confidence in him to work through us that we would bear much friut and bless us. What can be better than that. All we have to do is trust then blessing will come. How cool is that. The second Law is, "The Law of Uncontested Loyalty". In Ps. 33 God says we need to trust in his holy name. For when he speaks it came to be, and when he commanded it, it stood firm, (vs. 9). He is loyal to us. This proves it, but he does not just want a peice of heart. He wants all our heart, and I beleive he wants our whole heart becasue that is ultimately loyalty and trust to take care of us.
The Third Law is, "The Law of Unrestrained Dependence". God does not want us to have our eyes on the circimstance, but on the one who can change it. John 14 says that he does not want our hearts to be troubled, but to trust in me. The situations we face may not be in our own understanding, so that is when we need to lean on his understanding and trust that he will bring us through, and to take our hearts and mold them within the circumstance to come out of it with his understanding and his love. The Fourth Law is, "The Law of Unrestricted Allegiance". We must fight the good fight of faith. No matter what is going on in our lifes we dont need to give up. We need to press on and fight. God has given his word to be our strength and sword to get through anything. He says we are conquerors, so now we need to act like one. In all ways we need to honor him and acknowledge who he is and what he can do within us. Furthermore, this want come without a cost. Luke 18:22 says we must give up everything and follow God. There are some times in life that our ways may not match up with Gods, so we have to totally surrender and trust in him to lead us where we need to go. Lastly is, "The Law of Unmatched Dividends". Matt 8:29 says he will direct our paths and that he would make them striaght. We have to trust God in the unknown. I have been living in the unknown for almost 2 years now with many situations that Keith and I have faced. We dont know what may happen in any given situation in our lives, but we have to choose to trust him and to direct our paths and to learn what we need to in the storm. If we do this God will bring us through into success.
All of this has touched my heart. Its a reminder that God wants me to trust in him in all ways and with all my heart and just not with half my life but with all of it. Its trusting with my dreams, my kids, my family, my heart, and with anything else that is precoius to me. God has his plans for us, and we have to trust him to carry them out in his own time and place. Our job us just to trust him through it all.
God Bless.... Kelly
