Being Confident....

I have been learning a lot lately about confidence. Yeah, in a lot of ways this word can be really huge. I have been battling a situation within myself that I am working through even today. Its dealing with being confident in what God can do through me. I have realized that this one word can affect different areas of someones life including mine. It can happen in your marriage, friendships, on your job or many other things. It can be as simple as getting the confidence or boldness to pray with your spouse to being confident that God can use you on your job to show him to others, or in worship and entering into the heavenly realm of his spirit.

See, if we depend on ourselves to do some things it just want be done right. It will be done by human eyes and not God's. God can do mighty works through us, but we have to be confident to know that he can do those things through us. It might be hard, but its such a wonderful privilege.

With me personally, I feel like I have let fear get in the way. I think how God can you do that through little old me. I am just a simple girl born and raised in Georgia. I start to ask, "How can you use me that way". I think sometimes we forget that God uses simple people to do the most powerful things.

In Romans 8:15, the word of God tells us that we are not a slave to fear, but we have the spirit of sonship with Christ. Its so wonderful to be able to call our heavenly father, "Abba Father". He is so wonderful. I feel like I let fear grip me so much, and it keeps me from becoming what my full potential can be in the Lord and what he can do through me.

I am reminded of the verse that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. I have known that verse a long time, but its starting to just make sense to me. See, when we fear God instead of being bonded by fear we receive power by the Holy Spirit in which comes love and a sound mind to remember what we need to know, instead of worrying how people will react to us or what they will think. It all conisides together just like the Father, Son and Holy Spirit work together as one to proclaim the truth in our lives.

I know we as humans struggle with what people may think about us, but we need to break free from this and enter into what God has for us. I am sure I would rather be on the end where God is than on the end where I am worrying about what people are thinking about me for sure. If we dont care what poeople are thinking when we enter into the realm of the Spirit, because its so wonderful, then why should we care what people think before hand. Interesting concept, uh. Well, I am speaking to myself right now, too.

I am listening to a song right now that is powerful. The first verses are, "If I only had one breath left I would spend it just to sing your praise and say your name and if I only had one more prayer I would pray it, becasue I know you are listening", Boy what confidence. It goes on to say that I know you are there and I know you see me. He sees us as his children and he wants us just to step out. That is all he is asking. He has given his son for us, and all he asks us to do is just to step out and be a willing servent to serve, praise, and show his love to others.


So guys, if you are struggling with confidence right now, then let God build the confidence in you as you gain in him to do it through you. Have confidence that God can use you in ways that you can't understand. He is a big God and we have to remember that. We may not understand a lot of things about him, but we can learn as we become closer to him and get more confident in what he can do through us.
