In the last week God has been quickening in me the words, "Trust Me". Now I am just not talking about just a little bit. I am talking about in every sermon, bible study, and even in my own time with him. Every where I have turned the words trust me have been there.
Trusting is not easy when you don't see the situation being resolved. When you know you need something and its just not there you tend to have little faith. Where is that answer in all of it, and why does it have to happen in the way its happening.
God never said that the Christian life would come easy. Trust is a huge thing, but so simple too. Its a choice that we have to make. We need to trust when the doctor says you have a disease that cant be healed, when that son/daughter is straying away, when you think you cant get over an addiction or even when you cannot figure out how that bill will be paid.
That last one Keith and I are struggling with immensely right now among other things in our family. We are very independent people, but we are learning how to trust in him to supply. How hard is this you say? Well, in our eyes its harder than you know. God has us in his hands. We know that, but we also know at this time God is using this to build not only our faith in him, but to also draw us closer to him.
Its a matter of choice to trust, but will we do it. I read this in my devotion today, and I felt like it was speaking straight to me about trusting in him. Yes, we are facing uncertain days, but God is telling us that although all this is around us, that he never changes, and that we are safe in his hands. No I don't know where those doors will open to supply our needs, but I am learning that I need to be sensitive to his calling and be willing to follow where ever he may be leading. Only in this will I find the faith I need to endure each and every day.
I am learning that he is the JEHOVAH JIRAH, The Provider and he will meet our needs, but we must trust him.
SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns -- March 3, 2009:
Beloved, even in the midst of uncertainty, I will open doors that will offer unexpected opportunities to do what you have never considered. Do not be afraid, and you will enter a time of greater sensitivity both in the spiritual realm and in the natural realm. If you refuse to allow discouragement to take you captive, you will find a new level of freedom beyond anything you could imagine. Be obedient to My leading, and stay flexible, for I am with you and will be with you at all times, says the Lord. Trust Me!
Proverbs 8:12 I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of wittyGod wants us to trust. The question is will we make the choice to do so!!! God bless...
